Three Investment Routes
The GIP offers three routes: a SGD 10 million investment in a new or existing business, a SGD 25 million investment in an approved GIP fund, or establishing a single-family office in Singapore with at least SGD 50 million in assets under management (and at least SGD 200 million in net assets). The program requires a proven track record of entrepreneurship or investment.
Direct PR and Citizenship
Unlike many programs, the GIP provides direct permanent residence (PR). Citizenship is possible after PR following a certain period and integration requirements; however, since Singapore does not allow dual citizenship, obtaining citizenship requires renouncing your existing citizenship. For this reason, PR itself is the goal for many investors.
